USA Mega Millions jackpot jumps to $323 million with no winner in latest drawing
Another Mega Millions drawing was held Tuesday night without anyone having the jackpot-winning numbers.
That pushes the top prize for the Friday’s drawing to $323 million with a cash option of $199 million. It’ll be the 10th-largest Mega Millions prize in the game’s 15-year history and the 29th biggest jackpot in U.S. lottery history.
While no one hit the jackpot for for Tuesday’s $303 million drawing, four lucky tickets matched five numbers but not the Mega Ball and are worth $1 million each. Two were sold in New York, while the others were purchased in Illinois and Virginia.
One of the New York tickets was sold at 14th Street Candy & Grocery on East 14th Street in Manhattan, New York lottery officials said.
Tuesday’s winning numbers were 20, 22, 52, 57 and 73. The Mega Ball was 7.
Twenty-seven twice-weekly drawings have been held since David Trapp won a $61 million prize with a ticket bought at a 7-Eleven in Laguna Hills, Calif. on April 28.
Nine $1 million Mega Millions tickets have been sold in New Jersey this year, tied for the second most with New York. Only California lottery players, with 10, have bought more.
The odds of buying a second-prize, $1 million ticket are 18,492,204 to 1. It’s a 1 in 258,890,850 shot to hit the jackpot. Mega Millions is played in 44 states as well as Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
